Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Working
For instance, the inaugural keynote speech was delivered by H.E. Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, the UAE’s Minister of State for Digital Economy, Remote Work Applications, and Artificial Intelligence. He emphasized the UAE’s and Dubai’s dedication to globalization and the development of a setting that supports the success and advancement of individuals.
The UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications stressed the GITEX GLOBAL’s capacity to expand during times of uncertainty in the global tech sector.
Chief AI Scientist Huawei Cloud Dr. Tian Qi provided a session on new paradigms in AI to reinforce this. In particular, the Huawei executive addressed the potential for science. According to him, AI can make computations at least 10,000 times faster.
1. Test of Flying Car
One of the eye-catchers during GITEX GLOBAL was the XPENG X2. This two-person flying “car,” created by XPENG Aeroht, will be available in 2024. By then, it should be able to fly within cities, if only a few meters above the ground.
The creator of the flying “car” sees particular use for short trips, such as sightseeing and medical transport. To accomplish this, one can control manually or autonomously. The autonomous option means passengers can simplify the start, return, and landing operations with a button push.
2. Investing in R&D and Talent Development
So, there is a lot of government attention to making technology play a more prominent role in the UAE. Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, also clarified that in a session. He signaled that globally, many countries prioritize sustainability and moving away from oil. To keep the UAE’s economy, now a wealthy region, partly due to oil, running, and engaging, a hefty investment in technology can help.
That is why the UAE invests in Research & Development and talent development, focusing on science and technology. By the end of 2022, the UAE anticipates its GDP to expand by 6.5 percent, with non-oil-related businesses seeing a growth of 4.3 percent.
3. Health Care Gets Extra Attention
The UAE anticipates significant technological innovation in the healthcare sector. The Thumbay Group, a company that unveiled new initiatives at GITEX GLOBAL, will be the source of such innovation. The Thumbay Group is developing a “full-fledged virtual hospital in the metaverse.” In this hospital, physicians may work together on a case to ensure the patient receives the proper care.
A more tangible reality in healthcare comes from robots supporting surgeries. In the UAE, Da Vinci surgical robots have carried out 230 surgeries since 2019.
