On December 8, 2023, COP28 held its yearly gathering at Dubai Expo City (Energy Transition Hub). Sultan Al Jaber, the head of the UAE’s state-owned oil company ADNOC, was in charge of Masdar, the country’s renewable energy company, before taking over COP28. COP events are singularly scheduled to assess progress, negotiate climate policy, and make decisions on collective international actions to address climate change. These meetings are crucial for global discussions and negotiations on climate change efforts.
